A pretense.

We all pretend at some point. Some days we pretend much more than usual. It's easy to pretend when people are only concerned about themselves They'll fall for your deceit, and even if they see through it, they couldn't care less.  Often people pretend to be happy, to fake a mile or talk cheerfully. That way, the system is intact and society can proceed in its illusion of being perfect. Our society cannot accept sad people. Ironically, this emotion is very common. Sometimes, I feel like life is made of predominantly hurtful instances and sprinkles of  precious happiness. As children, we were 'allowed' to be mad and sad whenever we liked. but, as we grow older, showing these 'negative' emotions is perceived as a sign of weakness, ill health. And maybe, it is not healthy to be sad too often, but ignoring or even downplaying this emotion can only increase sadness. Today, we have an entire generation of sad people who do not know how to get over it. We

A decision to stay.

We are the choices we make. We decide at every instance of our lives who we choose be, what we want to be and how we want to react to a situation. Today, as I type these words, I have made a choice. A choice to remain at home during the winter break while my younger sister travels to visit our cousins. But, one never can really foresee the true consequences of their decisions until later in time. I assumed that staying back would be easy because, generally , I'm quite happy to be left to my own thoughts, reading books and watching some series on Netflix. Today, for the first time I feel like I'm missing out, I feel like I could be there, with them having fun and enjoying.  But, here I am writing. Don't get me wrong, it was completely my choice to stay. I stayed because I needed to think, I needed some time alone to make decisions, important decisions that I've been putting out for a long time. I needed direction , I needed to know where I was going and wh

Be that person.

Recently, I read 1984 by George Orwell. The book is well written and insightful on political dominance and oligarchy. I could see why this book is highly recommended. While reading the book, I came across a phrase - ' Inequality is the price of civilization'. Although this phrase was meant to justify the harsh treatment of citizens the extreme rules under the part rule, it is simply even today. And this may not necessarily be bad. Most people today have equal rights, may be treated with equal respect and dignity. But without inequality, society as we know it wouldn't exist. A civilization invariably requires laborers, doctors, traders, teachers and all other professions. This is simply the structure of a social system. In the most basic sense, if man and woman were to be biologically equal, human beings would cease to survive. Therefore, inequality is in the essence of life that is, our differences our necessary. The world needs people who can stand out and be

People passing by.

Walking on the road, we barely notice the people around us. Even if we do we're usually worried about what they might think of us .Everyday, we meet many people, some we're acquainted with, while some others who are dear to us. As life goes on we realize that people come and go, like people passing on a street. Some people fall apart while others suffer a painful void due to the detachment. People that we love are truly the only people who can hurt us,whether intentionally or not. Despite going through this cycle over and over again, we, as humans never stop meeting new people, making new connections. We must remember that along with meeting new people, we change as well. We have new beliefs, new intentions, ideas ; simply because, you've grown from your past.  Life has a way to keep getting back to you with the same problems until you learn your lesson. So, let's be grateful for what we have and excited for what is yet to come.  Passing people almost alwa

Put your head on my shoulder - Chinese drama review

I generally watch k dramas , its quite hard to go wrong with any Korean drama. They always seem to cast talented actors, wear pretty outfits, an engaging story line and amazing cinematography. Chinese dramas like Love O2O, Boss and me, Ten miles of Peach blossoms and Love me if you dare have proved to be great dramas to watch. In 2019, put your head on my shoulder was a Chinese drama that was talked about very often. This drama truly deserves its popularity . The plot is set in a university,  Situ Mo [ Xing Fei ]   and  Gu Weiyi [ Lin Yi ]  are nearing their graduation. Through a course of events ,the two end up living together in  Gu Weiyi's apartment. T heir growing attraction to one another seems quite natural and cute . The drama shows the the leads from their university days to their marriage and work. Both Xing Fei and Lin Yi are really good looking . Their roles were well played. The chemistry between them is great. Also, because the mothers of Situ Mo a
